Terms of use

A free tool for one joke. These terms say who is responsible for what, what the tool will never do, and how a link gets removed.

What this service is

This site turns a headline, a description and an image address into a short link. The link shows that text as a chat preview, then plays a music video and names the joke. Nothing is sold, there is no account, and there is no paid tier.

The one thing a link can open

Every link made here points at its own page on this site. There is no custom destination, no redirect chain and no way to aim a link at another address — that rule is the reason this tool cannot be turned into a redirect service or a cloaking service. If a link labelled as a rickroll sends you somewhere else, it was not made here.

Your content, your responsibility

The title, the description and the image address are yours. You keep whatever rights you have in them, and you give us permission to store and display them for as long as the link exists, because that is what serving the link means. You confirm that you have the right to point at that image, and that you are not submitting somebody else's words or picture as your own.

We run the tool, the templates and the page; you are responsible for what you put into it. That includes the consequences of a link landing badly with the person who received it.

What you must not submit

A link that breaks these rules can be removed without notice, and the full list of what is refused is on theabuse and takedown policy.

Removal, and what removal means

Report a link toreport@rickrollmaker.com with the full address and what is wrong with it. Links that break these terms are removed, usually within hours. Removal is a one-way switch: the record is marked removed, its page answers 410, and the title, description and video stop being served. A link is never edited in place or restored afterwards, so an address that has already been shared cannot quietly change meaning.

Grievance contact

For a complaint about content, including a request from a court or a government body, use the same address:report@rickrollmaker.com. It is the published grievance channel for this site. Complaints are acknowledged and acted on promptly, and we keep a short log of each report, the action taken and the time, so we can answer for it later. If you are the person in a link and want it gone, say so and it goes.

Availability and changes

The site is free and provided as it is. No uptime, permanence or retention of any particular link is promised: a link can be removed under these terms, and the service can change or stop. Features such as the QR code, the templates and the counter may change without notice.

Third parties

The player is a YouTube embed, images are loaded from whichever host the creator pointed at, and the site runs on Cloudflare. Those services process their part of a request under their own terms and policies. We do not control them and we do not pass them anything beyond what a browser request already contains.

Changes to these terms

The date at the top of this page moves when the rules change. Using the site after a change means the updated terms apply.

Contact

Everything — a report, a deletion request, a grievance, a question about these terms — goes toreport@rickrollmaker.com. These terms describe how this site is run; they are not legal advice.
